Tomorrow at Downtown LA

Don't forget tomorrow night will be a dope-ass art show/warehouse party at Downtown LA. Champ will also be showing some of his art and we will be performing to the visuals of Kenneth Anger. Also playing at that event will be Soul Or System, whom we haven't seen but heard a lot about. They do live visual mixing which is pretty dope. Heres a a little map showing where it is since the warehouse is kinda tricky to find...Its 5 bucks donation which I think is pretty much worth the experience and the trip...We will have zines and posters and other stuff available too -for sale or for trade or for free if you can talk us into it.

And, if you want options, LUNA IS HONEY is having their record release show at Bow and Sparrow Gallery w/ Michael Nhat and Cardio-Pulmonary and E+E. Their new record, "Raptor Red" is so badass. And Champ has been wanting to do a remix of "Still Killing Kreeps" We'll see...Ayayay!

The Scene w/ The Littlest Viking, Frontiers, and The Wilderness

Its funny when the only way some people can relate with what you do is by identifying it with something else that they feel is comparable to what you do. I overheard someone say "You guys sound like "so and so". Have you heard of them?" And they act surprised that you haven't. Thats a the most common line that hipsters say when they wanna be identified as such -its an indirect way of saying I-Am-A-Hipster-In-Case-You-Did_Not-Notice!. Usually such lines are followed with "You mean you haven;t heard of them?" Should I? Well, what gives? Anyways, we're not against hipsters or anyone in particular -that was just an observation. Clearly, it was a fun show on Monday despite of the show starting late and us driving my car that only runs 30mph. We played aroun 10:30ish and right away we entered ghost territory and sonically invoked the spirit of Krishnamurti. The show started late but we had fun and felt great about doing what we did. I used my mini-KP for th first time and that baby is a killer. Frontiers and The Wilderness played really interesting sets but The Littlest Viking totally creamed everyone on the face. But in a good way. Thanx for Chris and Ruben for showing everyone at The Scene that night how its done yo!

Tonite at The Scene and Downtown Warehouse Art Party on Friday

Tonite, we will be playing at The Scene in Glendale. This is our first time to play in a bar which we usually avoid but it should be fun because they have a good sound system that we can play with. So if you don't have any plans tonite, come by and rev yourselves up for the badass sets of Frontiers, The Wilderness and of course the baddest ass of all the acts tonite, The Littlest Viking. Then maybe you can gather up all the courage to ask that lovely looking lady across the bar to go home with you. Chances are you are most likely to go home wby yourself but after hearing all the music tonite, thats probably more than enough..or not!

Anyways, we are also playing this amazing downtown warehouse art party on Friday, May 22. Its the same date as Luna Is Honey's record release at Bow and Sparrow. If you haven't seen or heard them, we definitely suggest you check em out because their new record, "Raptor Red" is so fucking awesome and they have a really great set planned out (they are playing the whole album in its entirety) We just hope we have enough time to go see them and go play our show that same night. Either way, the warehouse party will last until really really really late into the dawn, so if you feel like coming down afterwards..it should be dope. We will be playing to the projected visuals of Kenneth Anger's "Inauguration To The Pleasure Dome" which features Anais Nin. This is the second time we will be playing to visuals and its going to be so exciting. We are lucky enough to perform in this event, thanks to Vinz for hooking us up. His band, Soul or System will also be playing that night. Finding the location is kind of a challenge so just make sure to follow the directions and don't park on Santa Clara.
Anyways, the show is 5 bucks donation but its totally worth it. Turtle will also be serving the beer he has been fermenting all these weeks and its gonna be killer. Anyways, thats it for now.

West Coast Tour Updates, DIY Distro, and All Ages Support

We have currently updated our tour dates to fit our crazy schedule. Any help that you can give us whether its contacts, shows at venues you are involved with, house shows, instore performances, art gallery openings, college radio shows, suggestions, a place to crash and take a shower will be much appreciated. We prefer to pay at all-ages spaces and venues but we are pretty much flexible with whatever is available in your city or town. Hell, we'll even play in a barn as long as we have a power source for our instruments.

We are also planning on taking or Mobile Zine Distro on the road. We just recently got a big hefty amount of zines donated to our library by Jen from Eagle Rock. We are so grateful for her decision to let us have her extensive collection of wonderful zines. We are also gonn have zines that we've made for sale or for trade and we are soon gonna start to carry zines and comix and books by independent publishers. We are still figuring out the website stuff. Anyways, if you have any zines or books and are interested to have us distribute it or just have it archived in our zine library please contact us.

Anyways, here are the new dates for the West Coast Tour. We are planning on going with Yes Deer! and Hellomynameischad however we are not sure if we will be able to play all the shows together. We are trying our best to get this together. I hate being repetitive but again, if there is anything yu can do to help please do so. Email us at magickmagickmagick@gmail.com.

L'KEG Show and Amy's Filmfest

apparently no pictures of us from the L'KEG show. B( wahwahwah!

Also, pics from Amy and Andrews place where they had a film showing at the rooftop of their building. A lot of people we knew showcased their films, Michael Nhat, Lee Noble, the guys from Kid Infinity and a lot more...it was fun. We messed around with Andrew's synthesizer modules and Amy made some really yummy cupcakes...there's only three letters that i can sum up the whole night with: L-S-D! whooooooa!

Recording Sessions

Here are pictures from the first recording sessions we did with Piry. We are practically experimenting with the new reel to reel tape recorder that he acquired. I know its kind of a trip that now we have all our set-up in electronic now and yet we are recording in analog (Actually we are bouncing it back and forth between analog and digital) but we are pretty much open for anything as long as it enables us to creat and especially work with other who seem to know better in what they are doing. Right now we are just doing this because we wanted to see what we can do with Piry's help. And besides, we like the idea that we have some kind of limitation in overdubbing tracks and doing takes. That way we are able to let go of things easily and really work hard to do the takes right or simply just live with it. We are big fans of Karl Blau's recording philosophy and we are applying that in the new recordings. Word!

"Eno Will Be Proud"

We played a really cool show the other night at the back of 2Bad on Temple/ Tribal Cafe. We are so happy how it turned out and that people came to see us do musical accompaniment to the short film "Dehiscence" made by our filmmaker/animator roommate, Andrew Lush. It was really awesome coz we didn't know they were gonna project it outdoors on the side of a building. Somehow from our emails to ROb we just thought we were gonna do it indoors. Also thanks to everyone for coming out especially since it was at midnight on a Sunday. Its always a blast to see the familiar faces of people we admire and love. We also met some really cool people and manage to do an encore with some visuals by Bryan, who owned the projector. I was glad talking to people who really dug what we were doing and some were curious about our set-up. We overheard someone saying that "Eno will be proud of what you guys are doing" and that alone made my night. Also Rob who owns 2Bad says he plans to have more events like that when the summer comes and preferrably on a full moon which sounds good to us. He was really nice and made sure we got enough food, water, booze and boochies. Anyways, we never made it to the Curio to see HowardAMB but we'll be playing with those guys soon at Betalevel and at 2Bad. They were playing at the Echo Curio with Bobb Bruno which we initially planned on going but we had to go play at Michael Nhats's Housewarming Party. It was an exciting set because we realized there and then that we forgot the cord to plug in the Microkorg synth. Somehow, we managed to make it work and got it going. It was a more loose set and we were glad that it was mostly friends from other bands that came to see. people from Luna Is Honey, Kid Infinity, Dylan Doren, Andrew Felix...etc...anyways, we weren't completely happy about it especially since the neighbors were bitching about our set and kept asking to turn it down even if we weren't that loud -but still we got through with it and managed to redeem ourselves later on in the night.

We are also updating the dates for our tour and somebody just asked us if we wanted to play BURNING MAN. BURNING MAN? as in the BURNING MAN FESTIVAL? whattafuck? its still tentative but we'll see how it goes..anyways, tonite we will be recording saxophone tracks for Vegan Vampire with Josh of LUNA IS HONEY. As usual Piry will be on the boards and doing the stuff he does best.

Anyways, if you do not have any plans on Monday, the 18th. Come and watch us make sounds and noise as we infect The Scene's sound system with a lethal dose of Magick. Playing with us will be our favorite duo from Whittier, CA, The Littlest Viking and some other cool bands namely, The Wilderness and Frontiers. We know the Scene is not all ages and we've had beef with them before regarding that but if you are under aged and wanna come to show, email us at magickmagickmagick@gmail.com and we can work something out. Yes! We ALWAYS do!

Midnight Dub Housing

we are playing a somewhat "guerilla" show this Sunday, the 10th somewhere in Echo Park. The show is going to be really chill. It starts at midnight. If somehow, you are still up at this time of the night and would like to have some chillout music in a dimly lit environment with projected visuals amidst a thick haze of ganja smoke, send us a message at magickmagickmagick@gmail.com or text us at seven-one-four-seven-six-seven-six-zero-five-four. before the show we are going to the echo curio to check out howardAMb and bobb bruno. should be a great show fo sho!

also updates on the recordings: we are happy that our friend, Josh from Luna is Honey agreed to do sax on some of the songs we recorded. We have been having so much fun recording with Piry who keeps telling us that we are "secretly perfectionists". Ha!
